Just Added - Outdoor Mini-Sessions

By popular demand, I have just added an outdoor mini-session to the schedule.  The outdoor mini-sessions will be held the morning of Saturday, August 11 at the rope bridge and grass path located at the Kansas Muesum of History.  (If that date does not work for you and you are interested in an outdoor mini-session, please let me know.)  I just love the little rope bridge, and so does Tanner - as you can see.

A really beautiful grass path leads up to the bridge and we can take photos there too during the outdoor mini-session.  Here’s Tanner strolling along the path.

To see more photos from this location, scroll down to the July 25th entry (the first and third photos) and to the July 12th entry.  The bridge and path are really, really close to a parking lot, so you don’t need to worry about hauling the kids miles through the path to get to the location.  Like all of our mini-sessions, the session fee is just $25 for a 25 minute session and there is a $25 portrait package (one 5 by 7, two 4 by 6s and four wallets) and a la carte prints are discounted by 25%.  Because we are just doing this session in the morning due to lighting (and my schedule) there are not many of these sessions to go around, so be sure to let me know soon if you are interested in a session.

Updated Website

Notice anything different?  We are so excited to roll out our new website this weekend.  We’ve updated the photos in the galleries with some of my favorite recent images, so be sure to check those out.  A big “thank you” to my website designer (my husband) for all his efforts on the new site.  Enjoy!

More Senior Photo Fun

I love taking senior photos!  It is such an exciting time for the seniors and their families…I’m thrilled to be asked to capture these special times for the families I have the pleasure of working with.  This senior and her family were no exception.  We had a great time during her session and I hope they are as excited about her photos as I am.

And my favorite. . .

Tanner Has Been Found

Congratulations to Jennifer M. who very quickly reported that Tanner was crossing a bridge at the trails behind the Kansas History Museum.  Be sure to check the blog frenquently as I plan to periodically post little games that you can play to win print credits.

As always, I have so many photos to post I don’t even know where to start.  We’ll let the ladies go first and start with some of the super cute little girls I’ve had the pleasure of working with recently.

And we can’t forget this little guy.  Here he is on his final session for his baby plan.  I can’t believe how fast his first year went by.

I wish I could take credit for these next photos.  Kris took these of Tanner the other night when he was trying to spray us with the hose.  Looks like that plan backfired.

Where’s Tanner?

Last night we ventured out for some pics and Tanner found a really cool bridge.  We had no idea this bridge existed until Tanner led us to it.

So, we are going to play a little game I like to call “Where’s Tanner.”  The first person to e-mail me (melissa@centerpiecephotography.com) with the location of this bridge will win a $25 print credit.  (Hint:  It’s in the Topeka area.)

Finding this bridge made me think that there’s probably lots and lots of cool locations out there for photos that I just don’t know about.  So, we are going to play another little game I like to call “Location, Location, Location.”  If you know location that would be great for photos - like Tanner’s little bridge, or a little old building (perferably a snake-free little old building), e-mail me the location.  The person who submits the “best” location  will receive a $25 print credit.  Ideally, the location would be in the Topeka area and on public property (or have the owner’s permission to take photos there).  In the event the winning location is submitted by more than one person, the first person to e-mail that location will receive the prize.  This contest will be open through July 31.  I can’t wait for your submissions to start rolling in.  Feel free to enter more than once if you know of lots of locations.

California Girl

I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful senior and her mom recently.  They are from California and contacted me months ago to do her senior photos while they were visiting relatives in Topeka this summer.  We had a great time during the session.  Here are just a few of my many, many favorites.

I think this next one is at the top of my favorite list:

This next shot has special meaning for this senior because she remembers riding the Gage Park carousel as a little girl when she came back to Kansas to visit her grandparents.

This is one of the first sessions that I used the new camera.  I LOVE it!  Love, love, love it!
