I wasn’t sure whether Tanner would enjoy Halloween. The “test run” with his costume the night before Halloween was a complete failure. He hated the costume and immediately wanted to take it off. His party at school didn’t start off much better, but he did let me put the body of the custume on him, even though he cried and cried and made me hold him for 30 minutes (talk about a back breaker). But once he started getting the candy at the businesses next to his school, he had a great time. He walked up to people, took only one piece of candy from each bowl (most of the time), and figured out that getting all the candy was worth having to wear his costume.
Tanner also had fun hanging out with his friends and teachers at his party at school. He took cupcake witches and although they didn’t turn out quite like Martha’s, they were still a lot of fun.

His also treated his friends to little bags of candy with fun treat card toppers.

When it was time for trick-or-treating, Tanner let us put the body of his costume back on and as we approached the first house, I snuck on his little hat without him even noticing. What a cute little puppy!

He loved trick-or-treating! At first, he made us carry him, but after he got the hang of it, he would literally skip from house to house. After we did our cul-de-sac, we took a little photo break where I got this gem (I’m not sure what he was upset about, but he was sure mad).

He was even more upset when I went back inside to drop off the camera. I turned around to see this pathetic sight.

(Door artwork and fingerprints courtsey Tanner Kasprzyk.)
Then we did another cul-de-sac and headed back home. Tanner was so tired that he had to lay down while opening his candy.

What a fun night and a wonderful little break from all the action around here. You guys are keeping me busy, I tell ya. (Thanks!) I have a MAJOR announcement, but I’ll save that for tomorrow’s post.
