The Big Move

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We’ve been very busy around here.  On the Wednesday before Turkey Day, we did a preliminary move into the new studio.  The studio had carpet in it, which we asked be removed so that we could just use the concrete floors.  Well, the carpet was glued down, which they had to grind off with a huge grinder.  We spent most of Wednesday moping up the thick dust that remained after the grinding.  Mopping was especially difficult since we didn’t have water for most of the day.

Tanner absolutely loves the studio.  He thinks its his own little playground.  He loved following us around and “working” with a wrench or cleaning the windows.  So cute.  We could have sold tickets to people on the street to watch from the sidewalk like he was some sort of exhibit.  He goes completely nuts while we are there.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we had our Santa sessions, which were a huge success.  The kids loved visiting with Santa.  It is so fun to hear what they would like to receive for Christmas.  So far, some of the funny requests have included live animals (including a reindeer), water (???), and nothing (well, that’s an easy one).  Girls tend to want My Little Ponies and boys are asking for trains.   We are looking forward to more Santa sessions next weekend.

I’ve had lots of people ask when is the latest they can order prints in order to receive them before Christmas.  Right now, I just don’t know the answer to that question.  Typically, the print lab that I use has a very quick turn around.  However, this time of year, the print labs get very, very busy and backed up and the time that it takes to receive the orders back from the lab varies quite a bit.  I would suggest that if you know which photos you would like to give as gifts or use as cards or enclosures for cards, then you should order those prints as soon as possible.  You are always welcome to place multiple orders if you know part of your order but are still deciding on the other part.  In the coming days, I may set a holiday “cut off” date and I’ll keep you posted on that.

I can’t resist posting this photo of Tanner from the weekend before Thanksgiving.  This little pasture of sheep is surprising close to our house.
