Centerpiece Photography will be hosting mini-sessions in Kansas City. On Friday, August 1, I’ll be at Loose Park, a GORGEOUS park that’s near the plaza, and then on Sunday, August 10, I’ll be doing sessions at Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, which sounds like a farm, but its actually a neat downtown / urban type area. Here’s some samples from each of the locations from a recent road trip Janet and I took with Tanner.
First up is the GORGEOUS Loose Park. The park has a beautiful pond, that’s home to dozens of ducks, and there’s several bridges that cross the pond at various points. Here’s a shot of Tanner on one of the bridges feeding the ducks some “corn” (popcorn).
And, of course, he loved running back and forth on the bridges.

And he would occasionally pose nicely for Mommy stop to catch his breath.

One of the many, many benefits of Loose Park is that even if its sprinkling a little for the sessions (like it did for some of the Loose Park sessions last year), there’s a really neat covered area at the park that we could go to and get some great shots.

I’m super excited for the Loose Park sessions, but (if its possible) I think I’m even more excited about the Strawberry Hill sessions. I was recently in Michigan and had the opportunity to photograph children in a back alley in a downtown area (a type of session I hadn’t really thought of doing before) and I was so excited with how the Michigan photos turned out. Its a really neat urban look. So, I knew I wanted to do some Kansas City sessions like that (Topeka, don’t worry, we’ll be doing some here too). One of goals for our road trip to Kansas City was to find a location for the urban sessions. We scoped out a few spots but nothing really “spoke” to me. Then, that pesky law background kicked in and I remembered that there’s a neat area with old buildings near the federal court house in Kansas City. Well, we found the perfect alley for the location (very nice neighborhood, low traffic, great parking, and really neat buildings/fences/stairways, etc). Here’s some shots from that alley.

Call or e-mail today for a session as there is limited availability. For those of you who have friends and family in the KC area, please pass the word letting them know about these fun sessions (you’ll earn a free 8 by 10 for each referral). The session fee for new customers is $50 (the session fee is waived for repeat mini-session customers) and there’s a special portrait collection available for these sessions. Have I mentioned how excited I am for these sessions?
